Mathematical Discourse

Students will sort events into two categories that can or cannot happen at the same time. I created examples that apply to a 2025 high school student. For example, listening to “Rich Baby Daddy” and listening to “Humble.” Then I created guided notes which will help students develop the addition rule, formalize mutually exclusive and inclusive events after the sorting activity, and use correct probability notation (U union).
