Mathematics Active Learning

The content includes divisibility rules for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9. It includes a statement of each rule and then a number of applications of the rules with numbers. This is a set that can be printed on card stock or regular paper and laminated. Run off as many copies as needed to make a set of cards for a group of two or three and cut them apart. Original has cards in correct order.

Students cut apart small triangles and then match the sides to form a large triangle. Students match two or three numbers with the least common multiple. Half of the problems involve three numbers. Numbers needing a LCM are less than 100. LCM range from 20 to 192.

Students follow a path around the sheet, starting with a fraction. For each step in the path, students add or subtract a fraction. The final operation brings the result back to the original expression.

Students evaluate numbers raised to a power in expressions involving multiplication and division.
