Mathematics Active Learning

This worksheet contains a series of compound figures with combinations of squares, rectangles and triangles for which students must find the area. Involved is addition of areas as well as subtraction of areas.

Students arrange five decimals, fractions and/or percents from smallest to largest in value. Some questions involve all decimals, some involve all percents and some involve all fractions. The majority involve some combination thereof. This can be used as an individual activity or a small group activity.

Students evaluate numbers raised to powers involving the four operations.

Students evaluate numbers raised to a power in expressions involving multiplication and division.

Students evaluate numbers raised to powers in expressions involving addition and subtraction.
