Discovering Operations with the If You Give a Man Some Hands ebook
This 41 page activity packet contains a fun ebook that uses the same domino effect that other books like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie use. It explains intuitively how we developed our number system and operations - from counting to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Experience
I have over 25 years in teaching and tutoring math - 17 years of which have been in the classroom. I'm currently teaching math at a private special education school to students ages 12-20 and developmental level 2nd grade - 12th grade.
Teaching style
Having struggled through strange and interesting bits of math myself, and having tutored my best friends in math through high school and college, I have a teaching style that works very well with students who are less than confident in their abilities. What I've always told them is this: "I'm not better in math than you are, I'm just more confident."
