This letter can be used as an introduction to the course and the summer assignment. A sample summer assignment is provided for use with the Demana Finney Kennedy Watts textbook: Calculus: Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic, 3rd Edition. This should be given to students in about 3 weeks before the end of the school year to ensure questions regarding the course can be provided. Please note: the letter indicates areas in which email and school name must be filled in!

The best way for students to know how they are doing in a class is for them to recognize that they are accountable for their work. This simple document is an easy and organized way for students, each time they place graded items into their progress folder, to record their grades (according to a unique breakdown) and comment on their progress.

I take a "coaching" approach to my teaching style. My students are given the confidence and skills to achieve the goals that we set and complete the task(s) at hand.
