Let's celebrate TWOSDAY 2-22-22 and the number TWO with an engineering challenge! Students will compete in TWO categories, engineering and design. Engineering objective: to create a paper airplane that will fly and land exactly 22 ft. away from the start line. Design objective: to create a paper airplane that has a creative design using the number TWO. Think about length, mass and decorations. The engineering challenge includes worksheets, instructions and certificates to remember this day by!
Students will use the interactive “The Science About Me” during the beginning of the school year, glue into their interactive notebook or binder. Students will practice latitude, moon phases, SI units (metric) and think about their favorite science things. This is a great way to introduce/review metric and applying some very basic science concepts—great to refer back to throughout the year.
