I have taught 7th grade Math Enrichment (supplemental course) in the past. I currently teach 8th grade Pre-Algebra along with 7th and 8th grade Pre-AP Algebra.
This shows students how to find the y-intercept from a graph, an equation, a table, a word problem, and from two points. This is a quick go-to guide. This was folded in half and used in an interactive notebook. There are the same questions as the slope notes. Great to put side by side in an interactive notebook. Could also be used as review or station practice.
This is a picture of a TI-84+ with important buttons labeled with their purpose. This can be put into the interactive notebook as a reference tool. Trim the top and right sides to make it fit.
Students are given a statement and write a "depends" statement with the given variables. They are then asked to determine the independent and dependent variables. This works great in class or as a short, flipped classroom (do the vocabulary section at the top and the first few examples with the students in the video, then they complete the rest on their own). There are two sets of notes per page so only half the copies. Fits into an interactive notebook. Answer key on second page.
This is the third of three sets of notes on arithmetic sequences. These notes focus on looking at arithmetic sequences in multiple forms (pictorial, list, table, graph, word problem) and identify different terms, as well as the explicit rule and rewriting the explicit rule in slope-intercept form. These were designed to be copied front/back and folded in half to fit in the interactive notebook. Two more sets of these notes are available. One goes over the an introduction to arithmetic sequences
These notes are designed to fold in half and glue in an interactive notebook (front/back copy). First page discusses domain and range as well as continuous and discrete. The inside has examples from multiple representations (table, graph, mapping) where students determine continuous or discrete, function or not a function, as well as domain and range. Answer key included.
These notes are intended to be printed front/back and folded in half to fit in the interactive notebook. The notes have students writing direct variation equations from a graph, point, and word problems. My answer key includes several ways to solve some of the problems.
This is the second of three sets of notes on arithmetic sequences. These notes focus on looking at arithmetic sequences in multiple forms (pictorial, list, table, graph, word problem) and identify different terms, as well as the recursive rule. These were designed to be copied front/back and folded in half to fit in the interactive notebook. Two more sets of these notes are available. One goes over the an introduction to arithmetic sequences and the other over explicit rule.
This is the first of three sets of notes on arithmetic sequences. These notes focus on looking at arithmetic sequences in multiple forms (pictorial, list, table, graph, word problem) and identify different terms, common difference, and proper notation. These were designed to be copied front/back and folded in half to fit in the interactive notebook. Two more sets of these notes are available. One goes over the recursive rule and the other over explicit rule.
This is a document that describes appropriate and inappropriate use of the graphing calculator in class. This is an editable document (Microsoft Word) so that you can change it to fit the expectations in your school and classroom. Students and parents must sign this before students are allowed to use a graphing calculator.
This activity is designed to use as a laminated, in class sort but could also be used as a cut and paste activity in an interactive notebook. Page 1 - teacher instructions Page 2 and 3 - sorting cards in multiple representations (vocabulary, equations, graphs, word problems, tables) Page 4 - category title cards (for when using activity as an in class sort) Page 5 - recording sheet (4 per page) Page 6 - answer key
