A PowerPoint presentation focusing on classifying real numbers as rational, irrational, natural, whole, or integers. Made in PPT 2007 but converted to be compatible with PPT '97-'03. Takes about 10 minutes of class. I provide the students with a copy of the flow chart on slide 2.
This handout goes along with my $1 powerpoint product titled "Algebraic and Verbal Expressions Table and Examples" which fills in the table with the students and walks them through examples of translating verbal expressions into algebraic expressions.

Additional biographical information
As I am working more and more with lower grades in my current position as a technology integration coach, I am trying my hand at creating instructional units for all grades. Constructive feedback is highly appreciated.
