One set of cards has verbal expressions. The other set has algebraic expressions. Students take turns trying to find matches. They can also read the verbal cards aloud to each other and see if they can write the expression algebraically.
A PowerPoint presentation focusing on combining like terms and using the distributive property. Includes examples of how to use the distributive property to help with mental calculations. 10 step by step examples for simplifying.This lecture takes about 15 minutes. Made with PPT 2007 but converted to be compatible with ppt '97-'03.
Students will identify which operation given math terms associate with. (goes along with my product MATH TERMS TABLE) 7 Examples of translating verbal expressions to algebraic expressions.
This handout goes along with my $1.00 product titled "Commutative, Associative, and Distributive Properties Notes" Which includes examples of how to use the properties to make mental math simpler.
This handout goes along with my $1 powerpoint product titled "Algebraic and Verbal Expressions Table and Examples" which fills in the table with the students and walks them through examples of translating verbal expressions into algebraic expressions.
