Games are used for consolidation; statements are provided to promote reasoning and problems are included to allow students to apply their understanding.

Experience
Taught from ages 5 to 18 although most experience between 9 and 13.
Teaching style
Lessons have to be engaging and fun within a classroom environment which celebrates mistakes (because then I can see what they and others are thinking!) and encourages pupils to make conjectures and pursue these. It is also vitally important that teachers learn something from every lesson about pupils' learning, misconceptions or difficulties so that we can reflect and make pupils' experiences richer and increase both their understanding and enjoyment of mathematics.
