I created this formula sheet (math reference sheet) with most of the essential formulas needed to master the 7th and 8th grade Common Core standards or AZCCR standards which is Arizona's version of Common Core. The visuals help students with conceptual understanding of the formulas.

Students will analyze a sequence of transformations to include rotation, reflection, and translation with a set of cards placed on walls around the room. There are a total of 8 task cards. One set shows the preimage and image. Another set of 8 cards shows a dotted line figure which allows students to see the first move for differentiation.

Students will solve 10 problems around the room with a partner. Make sure to put the cards in random order. Each page has two problems, one for Partner A and one for Partner B. They should get the same answer for immediate assessment and then move on to the next problem, using their answer to find the next problem to solve. There are 10 problems total including percent of a number, comparing rational numbers, and converting between fractions, decimals, and percents for basic review.

This is a short bell activity for kids to match up with seat partners to review translations and reflections. There are six problems and they need to put the corresponding answers in the correct answers in the correct order.

Students will rewrite equations in slope intercept form to find slope, and students will find slope from a pair of points. Students will match up cards with the appropriate equation and slope and the appropriate pair of points and slope.

Students will solve 9 problems at their seats with a partner. They will match up models of dilations with the appropriate description of the dilation about either the origin or vertex and including the scale factor.

Students will solve 10 problems with a partner. Partner A and partner B should have the same answer and move on. The answers are already in order, so put the pages in random order around the room. If the kids do the problems correctly, the last answer will take them back to the beginning.

Students have to solve 10 equations with a partner. Partner A's answer should match up with Partner B for immediate feedback. There are 10 problems total with solving two step equations with rational numbers and integers. Put the cards up in a random order around the room so the kids do not figure out that the answer is just on the next paper.

The students will work with partners and solve equations with absolute value, distributive property, combining like terms, getting variables to one side, no solution, infinitely many solutions. The 9 squares/rectangles will form a larger square. The answer on one card will match up to the corresponding question on another card.

Students will solve percent of a number problems. Each card will align to the correct answer or question. There are 9 cards total. These are large squares that my students complete with a group out of their seats, typically on the floor or at a table. I have also attached a smaller set that are about half the size for partners to work at desk and an optional color set if you do not have color cardstock.

Students simplify numerical expressions with a partner and by rolling a pair of dice. Their answers will match up for ongoing assessment. There are 6 rows and 6 columns of problems.

Students will solve 10 problems with a partner. Each answer will lead them to the next question. Put the cards up in random order so they do not figure out that the next answer is just the next paper on the wall around the room.
