Great opportunity for blended learning! Use a fortune teller to help students review, practice, or quiz each other on non-fiction text features. I used a basic template for the fortune teller from the link below. There are two fortune tellers included. Each has the definition of 8 different text features. An answer key is also included. Folding instructions are at the bottom of each fortune teller. All you need to do is print and go! Great for a center, station, or choice board activity.

Great Greeks An Internet Scavenger Hunt Created by Jennifer Rakestraw
This scavenger hunt was created using the resources and questions posted on Jennifer Rakestraw's classroom website. I took the ideas and created the attached scavenger hunt/webquest. I would convert this Word Doc to a Google Doc to best work with Google Classroom. Being a Word Doc you can customize and alter the product to fit your needs.

Basic anchor charts including cause and effect, definition, antonym, synonym, example, tone and mood, and association context clues. Each slide provides a short definition, possible key words if applicable, and an example sentence.

Help your students sort between declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences. There is a color-coded visual to help students first sort their packets. Next, they will write three of each sentence. Finally, they will come up with their own sayings for the hot sauce packets. Students will list what type of sentence their saying is. Simplified version with color-coding for differentiation. If needed, you can use the large sorting mat as a poster or visual.
This is a poster for a Wanted Number. Students get to be creative to show their number sense understanding and place value skills. Students will make up a number and represent it in different mathematical ways to create an old wanted poster. Use this as an art/math activity, a great place value review activity, or even a bulletin board.

Using the acronym R.A.C.E. (restate, answer, cite, explain and extend) I created this graphic organizer to help guide the students through the process. There are two versions of the graphic organizer. The first one breaks up restate and answer. The second one combines them and breaks up explain and extend. It is generalized to be used for any subject.
