I Like to Count! Yes, I do!This book is to be read similar to a song, but an old school cheer. Use the beat to the cheer, “We have spirit, yes we do. We have spirit, how about you?” The book has visuals to help with numbers and a hand to help encourage one-to-one correspondence when counting objects. Activity for during book reading with small group. There is a chart that you can combine and laminate. Then there are number pieces for each item/page. Giving each student a turn as follows: -Chee

Experience

I am celebrating my 11th year of teaching special education. I achieved my second Bachelors in Elementary Education with my Certification in Special Education in 2011. I then was hired on by Lawrence Township at Brook Park ELC to begin my teaching career. I went on to teach at other school districts working in special education and specializing with kids with Emotional Disabilities following the achievement in getting my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis. I was hired back into Lawrence Township at Winding Ridge ELC a couple years ago and I am so excited to be home.

Teaching style

Building relationships to help my students feel safe and encouraged to learn.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Been chosen as teacher of the month several times. In Carmel Clay Schools where I was an Emotional Disability Teacher, I was chosen to be part of new team to open program in a new building within the district that included input on teacher training, building construction prep for needs of the students as well as decision making for teams within the building.

My own education history

I have three degrees, one Bachelors in Fine Arts, one Bachelors in Elementary Education with my certification in Special Education, and my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Additional biographical information

I have one daughter who is a junior at the University of Cincinnati. I love being a mom and a creative soul and look forward to the adventure of our future.
