This resource is a 24 task card activity complete with a recording sheet and answer key. I made this activity to model 3.5E with only addition and subtraction to scaffold instruction. The questions start off easy and then progress to harder more wordier questions. This 24 question QR task card activity focuses on 5th grade STAAR standards of PEMDAS without exponents. One of the things I hate about PEMDAS is how easy it can be to practice it wrong. So I made these QRs to link to VIDEOS not just answers!! This videos are about 1 minute each and are great to ensure that the students are not practicing it wrong!! This activity is modeled after the Name It activity from Lead4ward. It is designed to help students model thinking while solving multistep problems. The answer bank allows students to VISUALLY see the thinking a teacher does when he/she makes a strip diagram for a multistep problem.
