I made this to go with FOSS Environments 4th grade text book reading, Terresterial Environments pg. 3-12 (NGSS version). As well as FOSS Middle School text Populations and Ecosystems - 2nd Edition. Although it is a general graphic organizer that can be used for any lesson regarding Environments or as a note taking guide for an informational text reading on the topic of different environments.
Specifically this Graphic Organizer I made for the article in the 4th grade Environments Text "Human Activities and Aquatic Ecosystems" pages 42-45 (NGSS version). I typed it two up on a page to be glued into Science Journals. It is in MS word so you can edit as you wish. ANSWER KEY INCLUDED. If you want a general graphic organizer for any of the articles in any FOSS text book for any grade, see my General Reading Comprehension Organizer.

This is a basic outline for a poster project to compare a cell to a non-living system. I've had students compare it to a school, factory, generator, engine etc. They have to find a part of the non-living system that is similar to the same thing in a living cell. Example: Nucleus is the "boss" of the cell and in a school system the principal is the "boss". Contains a basic graphic of how poster should be organized and has a rubric. Edit as you need.
Can be used with any informational text passage. Allows student to interact with text. I designed with 2 up on a page to allow for being glued into an interactive journal. I use in my Science Journals - but can be used for any journal or enlarged and used as an assignment. MS word doc that you can edit.
