Students will enjoy applying their geometry vocabulary and formulas to calculate the area of two playground blueprints. I allowed my students to work with partners and check their work with their table groups. Students experienced productive struggle and learned a lot from this activity!
This introductory lesson will help students understand the difference between an equation and an inequality. This lesson includes vocabulary, notes sheet with signs and graphs, as well as practice problems for students to graph inequalities and equations. You can make this lesson more conceptual for students by assigning students index cards with numbers and create a "human number line" based on possible solutions.
This activity allows students to apply their knowledge of Triangle Inequality Theorem, Triangle Sum Theorem, area of triangles, and classifying triangles all in one activity.
This formative assessment will allow you to observe how well your students understand independent and dependent variables using a table, graph, and equation.
