I apologize for the price however it took hours to outline the chapter, condense it, create the presentation, add pictures, and add discussion questions. This power point presentation goes along with the Glencoe World Geography and Cultures textbook chapter 17 for North Africa and Southwest Asia. I use it as lecture notes for my students. Please feel free to edit it to fit your needs but please do not post any part of it online. Thanks! ***Check out the guided notes that go with it: "North Afr

This is a Webquest to help students understand the meaning behind symbols and colors in North African Art. It also helps them realize that there are other forms of art other than what they are used to. I used the National African Art Museum's website as a guide and built questions to go along with it. There is an activity for them to complete at the very end as well.

I apologize for the steepness in price but coming up with the projects and creating the grade-grid took a lot of man hours. Layered curriculum is a great tool for differentiating instruction and helps students engage with the subject matter in a way that is not sitting and listening. Students will choose several projects and learn about the original 13 colonies, the constitutional convention, and other events/people during the pre and post Revolutionary War period. My students have really enjo

This is a different way to take guided notes, there are coloring options and graphics to help those visual learners really cement the information in their minds. I have used it quite successfully in my own classroom and am very happy that the students have a way to take notes and doodle simultaneously. I do apologize for the steepness in price, these do take a large amount of time to make and the kids really like them. Enjoy! If you have any questions, please let me know. These go with my Sub-

This bundle is a power point and guided notes (both blank and filled out) to teach high school students a brief history/overview of psychology and the perspectives used in this science. There are some QR codes in it, one leads to an article that I have my students read and discuss and the other leads to the authentic happiness website put out by Dr. Seligman, the founder of Positive Psychology. I usually have the students sign in to that and take the first quiz (it only takes about 10 minutes)

This is a psychological experiment that I use with the brain unit. After we discuss the nervous and endocrine systems, I use this activity to prove that the stimulus is causing their bodies to react in some way even if we are not consciously aware of it. The experiment is supposed to raise their pulse during Beast Master and lower their pulse during Bob Ross. I call it Beast Master vs. Bob Ross because we begin with a base pulse, then they free write for a minute. Then, we watch snippets (al

About the store

Experience

I was a substitute teacher for 6 years beginning in 2007. I received my Kansas teaching license in 2010 and began my teaching career at Lansing High School in 2013 and I am still living the dream today.

Teaching style

I am learning a lot about PBLs and how to engage students in their learning. I have a "if I respect them, they'll respect me" philosophy and I try very hard to be consistent in my management. I am always looking for ways to engage learners in the lessons and get them to think about the material instead of sit and get.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I received ETS recognition for scoring in the top 15% on the Principles of Learning and Teaching exam. I was my district's Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2019. I was nominated for Kansas Teacher of the Year 2020.

My own education history

I went to three different high schools in three different states and then got a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Kansas. I then went to Washburn University to get my education coursework completed.

Additional biographical information

I am a wife, mother, and teacher and love what I do everyday!
