A resource of books that can be used in the gym to teach Physical Education outcomes. I have presented this information at the Maryland AHPERD and EDA conferences over the past few years.
Have students peer assess locomotor skills in your gym! This activity is a great way to get students to practice their locomotors and to interact with other students. Each student must find a friend to watch them perform their movements correctly before they sign off. If the movement isn't done well, it gives students an opportunity to provide feedback!
Give student an opportunity to demonstrate what they know about their heart rate and what happens during exercise:
1. Measure heart rate
2. Graph heart rate
3. Explain how heart rate changes during exercise
4. Show locations for measuring heart rate on the body
