After several weeks of me choosing the song of the week, the students have a research project where they research song lists and choose their own artist. They study the life of this artist, write a biography, choose a song, and find a grammatical structure that they want us to focus on. Students loved this and I did too since it introduced me to songs that interested the students. It was definitely the project of the year for my 9th graders! I gave them a few days in class to work on this.

Students are given information about a regular Toyota Camry and Hybrid Toyota Camry (MPG, price, etc). The students have to figure out how long they have to have the car to make the difference in price worth it.
This is a fun math activity, all in Spanish. We have a class discussion over it one day, they work in groups trying to figure out what information is needed and then they have about a week to come up with a solution. Many students bring this home and share it with their parents. Fun
