I made this power point that is separated into 2 sections (addition and subtraction). Frogs hop on the log for addition and hop off the logs for addition. It shows students a fun way to use the number line.
Day 1 Show addition having students figure out the equations.
Day 2 Show subtraction having students figure out the equations.
Are yur students having a hard time subtracting with regrouping? Here is a strategy I learnned to help my students with regrouping. This is the form I give to my students to help parents with the new strategy. Just print 2 on a page.
This power point has 4 story problems using the stop light method.
1. Read the problem. Underline the question. Circle the important numbers.
2. Draw the problem.
3. Solve the problem using a number line.
