If you don't have enough tactile base ten blocks in your classroom, then these are for you! Ones blocks, tens blocks, and hundreds blocks are included in both small and large sizes.
Take and Make is an easy and great game for practicing place value! Students take two number cards from the upside-down stack of number cards and place them at the top of the board. Students can draw or use base ten blocks to build and say the three-digit number, or they can use base ten block printouts!
(7 pages) These cards are perfect for students working to count on from a given number (up to 100). You could provide a hundreds chart for the students that need a little extra support too. 14 cards included!
This 'Start, Change, Result' board is a perfect way to introduce word problems (story problems) in math. Use manipulatives to act out the beginning (start), middle (change), end (result) of a problem, or laminate the boards so students can write on them with dry-erase markers.
(12 pages) Increase opportunities for connections/conversations around using multiple representations of numbers. Students will use their number sense to record matching addition number sentences from dominoes, dice, and tens frames. Four pages of each representation are included.
(10 pages) Students can use their knowledge of counting by tens to put the puzzle strips together in order. Place the cut puzzles in individual baggies for your students to play during centers, independent work time, or put in an "early-finisher" bin. Laminate for unlimited use!
Write in your own three numbers in the cute fishies for fact-family practice! Cut in half for use in centers or leave as is to complete in small group. Laminate or put in page protectors for unlimited use.
(20 pages) Use this number box matching activity to help students match different representations of numbers 1-10. Cut the boxes in four and put in baggies for students to count and match back up! Perfect for independent or guided math centers.
A six-sided numbered die (or dotted die for a challenge) is all you need for this fun coloring activity. Students roll the die and color the corresponding shapes until the whole page is colored! Simple and super engaging for young mathematicians!
(20 pages) What's Missing 120 Charts support counting and cardinality (K.CC) standards, as well as number and operations in base ten (1.NBT) standards. Ten pages include single blank spaces only, while the other 10 pages include both 1 and 2 blank spaces in a row. Laminate or put in page protectors for unlimited use with dry erase markers!
A great supplemental activity to use in small group or as a whole-group scavenger hunt! Students will count and record the value of the base-ten blocks in 10 silly penguin pictures. Teacher answer key included.
