With 26 years of experience as an educator, I am passionate about science and technology. I began my career in early childhood education and have since taught across a wide range of grade levels, elementary, middle and high school settings. This vast experience has given me unique insight into how to capture students' attention and make learning both fun and meaningful at every stage of their educational journey. My teaching style emphasizes hands-on activities and deeper thinking, creating engaging experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for learning.

Teaching style

My teaching philosophy centers on Project-Based Learning and principles of Mind, Brain, and Education science, which inspire me to design engaging, hands-on, and "brains-on" resources. I’m dedicated to helping students connect with content in ways that spark curiosity, creativity, and deeper understanding.my resources are designed to make science and technology accessible, exciting, and memorable for all learners.

My own education history

I am a lifelong learner with a passion for education and a commitment to professional growth. My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and certification as a professional educator in the State of Florida, specializing in Elementary Education (K-6) and Earth-Space Science (6-12). Over the years, I have expanded my expertise through continuing education experiences, including programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Learning and the Brain, and Johns Hopkins School of Education.

Additional biographical information

In addition to my teaching career, I am deeply involved in extracurricular activities that inspire creativity, curiosity, and teamwork. As the sponsor of the MCDS Engineering Club for grades 6-8, I guide students in exploring problem-solving and innovative thinking. I also serve as the MCDS Photography Club sponsor (2019–present), where I help students develop their artistic skills while fostering community impact, such as raising $600 to support “ONETREEPLANTED” in Florida. In 2021, I had the privilege of teaching ballet to 7th and 8th graders, combining discipline with artistic expression. Outside of school, I am an avid runner and health enthusiast, as well as a proud wife and mother of three grown children, aged 26, 25, and 21.
