This is an easy activity to do with your students after introducing the basics of culture. I like to use this after going over topic APHG topic 3.1 but it can be used at any point in Unit 3. It also acts as a great launchpad for class discussions. Feel free to use and modify however you see fit for your own students.
This is a fun activity for students to apply some of the concepts they've learned in Unit 4 regarding boundaries and borders. Students will be given a copy of the map (slide 2) and will need to create the boundaries between the five groups considering the physical and cultural features of the landmass. The final step requires students to justify their decision-making process. This whole activity can be done in one class period.
