In our classroom, when we read a book, we put it on our mental book shelf – I created this to use as a monthly reading log, where students fill in the titles they read on the spines of each book. There is a black and white option as well as a color option. It’s a simple powerpoint setup, so you can change the colors/sizes/amounts of books to meet your needs. Happy reading!

I print these on snowy colored paper (light blue, blue, white, off white, etc.), and whenever one of my kids finishes a book readers writers workshop or DEAR time they fill one of these out!  Their name, the title and author go on the top lines, and then everyday I have a different prompt (Who was your favorite character? What was the setting in your story? What problem did the characters face? etc) so they’re not writing the same thing everyday they finish a book.  I then cut out and hang the s
