This writing prompt asks the question "What is a Hero?" The prompt stems from the heroes that helped on September 11th, but asks students to explain their own thoughts on what a hero is. I used this with my 2nd grade students and found their responses to be quite impressive! The basics of the page allows students to add their own creative touches and colors if they wish.

My own education history

I am a proud graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Additionally, I have received 21 credits towards my Master's degree in Educational Studies and completed hundreds of hours of additional professional development in a wide range of content. I have just completed my National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist and am awaiting my final scoring results.

I am currently a 4th/5th self-contained gifted teacher in Vancouver, Washington. I believe positive relationships are the first priority when working with students.
