On the Powers of Ten notes, students should be able to fill out 10 to the 3,2,1 power. Then have them look for the pattern between these three. They should quickly see that you divide by ten as the power lessens. This will help them extend to the 0 power and negative exponents.

Have students highlight the diagonal on the perfect squares page to accentuate the fact that perfect squares are formed as the product of the same two whole numbers.
There are two versions of a one-step inequalities worksheet. Students are paired up. One completes sheet A independently and the other completes sheet B. Even though the inequalities look different, students should have the same answer and graph for each question. This ensures students do their own work, but are getting the support of a partner.
