Experience

I’m entering my 14th year of teaching and have had the privilege of working with nearly every grade from 5–10. My experience spans both ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) and self-contained classrooms, giving me a broad perspective on how to meet the needs of diverse learners. Teaching style

I believe learning should be fun, engaging, and tailored to the students in front of me. If a lesson isn’t working, I pivot and try something new—flexibility is key to success. Above all, I focus on creating a positive and safe learning environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Structure and routine form the backbone of my classroom, giving students the stability they need to thrive while still leaving room for creativity and exploration.

Awards & shining teacher moments

In addition to teaching, I’m passionate about giving back to the community. For over 8 years, I’ve served as the Interact Club advisor, inspiring students to serve others and become well-rounded citizens. In 2024, I was honored with the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award for my contributions—a moment that deeply touched me. Watching my students take pride in their service and grow as people is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

My own education history

I am certified in Art Education (K–12), Special Education (Birth–Age 21), and Elementary Education. I hold a Master’s degree in Interactive Multimedia, which I use to design engaging and interactive lessons that integrate my artistic background. This unique combination allows me to blend creativity and technology in ways that make learning more dynamic and accessible for all students.

Additional biographical information

One of my deepest passions is raising awareness for breast cancer research. I lost my mom, a dedicated elementary teacher of 28 years, to a long battle in 2016. She inspired me to follow in her footsteps and make a difference in the lives of students. In her honor, I have walked over 100 miles in Avon Breast Cancer Walks to help find a cure. Today, I am also a mom, and being both a parent and an educator are the most important roles I hold.
