A low floor/ high ceiling task does not have a right answer and therefore creates entry points for every student in the room. LF/HC tasks should be quick to do and discussion should be limited just enough to activate prior knowledge and create a clear segue into the lesson. This printable will guide students through the discovery of tangent and its graph. Using the graphs of sine and cosine, along with their previous knowledge of tangent, students will first find the x-intercepts and the undefined values (asymptotes).
