Experience

While I have not taught in a formal classroom I have 4 years of education through STEAM/STEM based children's museums in Wisconsin and Austin, TX. I have also been designing curriculum for 3 years now, including for a the Marathon County 4-H department most recently.

Teaching style

While I think that formal education structure is important, I believe that "learning through play" or "learning by doing" is incredibly important. Children learn best when they are given the opportunity to explore and discover their environment and the concepts in front of them. I also believe that adding in physical activity and movement activities into the class schedule is important and helps to build concentration and executive thinking skills. You will find a lot of exploration and movement activities worked into the curriculum I post on this website.

My own education history

I currently have a B.A. in Arts Management with an emphasis in Child, Youth and Family Studies. I am also going back to get my second bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
