These visually appealing, easily understood notes are used in my interactive notebooks when I teach students to estimate products. These notes assume students know how to round whole numbers, so they do not cover the rounding rules.
I use these notes to introduce Dividing Whole Numbers by Unit Fractions. Instead of saying "Keep Change Flip" I teach my students that we multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction in the expression. We change the symbol because to use the reciprocal we have to use the inverse operation.
These notes lay out the disadvantages and advantages of the different forms of payments, as required in the TEKS. Once they are completed my students complete a fan fold, write the title on one blank side and glue down on blank tab in their interactive notebooks.

This is a short quiz that I give after introducing the Order of Operations. It is meant to be given before the students begin using the skill with word problems. It is fully editable, so you can change it to fit your needs.
These notes cover the basics of Algebraic Expressions, I use these when I am beginning the unit. They are designed to be filled out, folded in half and glued into notebooks, but can be adapted to any way you want to use them.
I use these notes on the day that I introduce the concept of multiplying whole numbers and fractions with out models.
