ALGEBRA, PRECALCULUS: CONIC SECTIONS Worksheet
Worksheets include simpler tasks of determining, from an equation, which way (up, down, left, right) a parabola opens to the more involved graphing of a hyperbola. I made these for my classes and they really helped the students, especially the ones who were struggling. Hope you find them useful, too. 9 pages of worksheets plus cover sheet.

For a variety of functions on differing intervals, students determine if the conditions for the MVT {continuous on [a,b]; differentiable on (a,b); and, f(a) ≠ f(b) } are met. If they are met, then the relevant value(s) of x are found. 4 page worksheet and coversheet

Teaching style
I have seen that mastery comes from practice. Graphing and understanding graphs is a particular point of difficulty for many students. So, I created these cards to get students to concentrate on what the characteristics of a graph tell us ... without knowing what the equation of the graph is. I print one set on blue paper, one set on yellow paper, etc. Then, teams of 3 or 4 students can compete. Don't use all ten sets at one time; it can be a little tiring for them. I found that using half of them each time works best.
