Mindful Creativity

Students can track the different genres they are reading throughout the year. Once they have finished a book, the identify the corresponding genre and colour in a circle to represent that book on their wheel.

Day 1: Students sketch a guitar while listening to soft classical music. Day 2: Teacher says that they lost the drawings and asks the students to draw the guitars again. This time the students listen to loud aggressive music (don't point out the difference). Then give them back their first drawing and have students do a comparison between the two sketches using this reflection sheet.

Students are to design/invent a product that will help people in their lives. Students must think about the target audience and media techniques to advertise their product.

In Kindergarten music we have been listening to a variety of music. We looked at how art can be created to mirror the sounds of music. Afterwards, we created our own art to music. This is the reflection sheet that the students completed when reflecting on their musical artwork.
