Mindful in Second. Here are a few activities that I have my students complete during read aloud. I like that it keeps my students engaged during reading and makes the read aloud interactive.

The genre blurb activity is to completed by students after they have been immersed in genres. They are to pick a genre of a book that they have enjoyed throughout the marking period and write about it according to the criteria in the directions. Rubric included!! Students have spelling homework Monday night through Thursday. Introduce the spelling activities and have the students keep a copy in their notebook.
