A watercolor lesson for art students in the winter months. The basics of traditional watercolor with a detailed description of the artists steps to it's creation. They can improvise this outline to suit their favorite birds of winter.

The use of watercolor is an intellectual experience filled with surprises but if you don't plan well in advance you can easily loose the goal. I'm trying to push for composition in the exercise and the things that all artists want to achieve.

Teaching style
I'm a believer in teaching art, not standing passively waiting for the child to entertain me.
I am not their cheerleader. I want them to learn the traditional disciples of art that have been used by the artists of the past. It's important to let them know what they are capible of doing. If you allow them the freedom to work within a structured outline or lesson, they will find learning enjoyable and no where near that drudge of work. Work becomes joy.
