It describes thumbnail sketching so that they can begin to work on composition immediately. The idea of detail is revealed this way also. As they return to the classroom, they can then have a better idea of what it is they wish to work out on their watercolor paper.

About the store

Experience

I've been an art teacher since 1981. A fine art librarian before that and an interior designer. My painting and drawings are seen on the web and local galleries.

Teaching style

I'm a believer in teaching art, not standing passively waiting for the child to entertain me. I am not their cheerleader. I want them to learn the traditional disciples of art that have been used by the artists of the past. It's important to let them know what they are capible of doing. If you allow them the freedom to work within a structured outline or lesson, they will find learning enjoyable and no where near that drudge of work. Work becomes joy.
