About the store
I have been teaching for 21 years. I have been blessed to work with children from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have taught middle school writing, social studies, reading, and math. In these 17 years I have worked with general education students and special needs students. I am currently working as a reading specialist, educational coach and RTI/MTSS coordinator.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching for 21 years. I have been blessed to work with children from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have taught middle school writing, social studies, reading, and math. In these 17 years I have worked with general education students and special needs students. I am currently working as a reading specialist, educational coach and RTI/MTSS coordinator.

Teaching style

I believe in a multi-sensory approach to learning. I believe it is important to find what works best for each child providing many modes of instruction. I have developed a structured reading program for struggling students based on picture walks, word work, fluency, comprehension, and writing.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I received special recognition from Wayne County PAC in 2012 for "Special Education Teacher of the Year" for our area. Recently, I have been selected to present for the state of Michigan in Lansing and Traverse City.

I have attended Eastern Michigan University where I received my Bachelors, University of Michigan where I received my Masters, Madonna University, and Cantor University for continueing education.

Additional biographical information

I am a very busy mom of 3 children from College Studentl to 3rd grade. I enjoy reading, nature, crafts, and teaching. I have enjoyed greatly developing many new programs for our district and look forward to sharing my ideas with all of you. I have published a children's book and my second will be available in spring 2016.
