How A Bill Becomes A Law Graphic Organizer

I wrote this unit following the NYS CCLS and the Social Studies Scope and Sequence.

This is a lesson I used on my formal observation which was highly effective in four components. Students will learn how to identify key aspects of dissection of a political cartoon and then go into groups to perform a gallery walk, completing a graphic organizer, assessing their mastery of the skill. This Power Point includes 4 differentiated graphic organizers for ENL students and special education students, differentiated cartoons, and alternate assignments.

This introduction lesson exposes students to Document Based Questions and uses the R.A.C.E strategy for them to learn to answer these responses formally.

This is a Power Point lesson which goes over the components of a well structured essay. This lesson is good for any age range to teacher and review the parts of an essay. Additionally there is a graphic organizer for a informational essay about the Early European Explorers for the group work portion.

Students will get into groups and have four minutes to circle each station to complete the two different handouts. They can also write on chart paper and answer be shared as whole. This is an ice breaker introduction to the American Revolution. There are four images, two quotes, and you must add one video.
