This mini unit is on how to write a folktale. First, we read African Folktales on animals (all online) and watch some videos (all online) and then we write one. The title is "How (an animal) got its (body part). Included is a brainstorming sheet, outline sheet, rough draft writing sheet, and good copy sheet. Since folktales were passed around orally I also include a sheet on tips on reading with expression.
