Open Sight Words is a sight word program that was made for PM Readers. I implemented it at my school to replace our old sight-word program. It’s designed for schools that use PM readers and PM Bench-marking. It was a huge success in my school and other schools in my area have adopted the program and wanted to know more information about it. I’ve compiled information about my sight-word program to make it easier to share with new schools that may be interested.
Why did I create Open Sight Words?
This is a colouring in self-assessment rubric to use with Kindergarten students. The visual guide really helps :-) Also useful for preschool and grade 1.

- Correct numeral formation (In Australian handwriting font).
- Representing the number in a 10 frame.
- Representing the number on fingers.
- Representing the number in dot or domino patterns.
