Using the steps of the engineering design process, students will build and test the effectiveness of a catapult. This design challenge can be extended to discuss force and acceleration based on the way the catapult was built.

Struggling to find STEM challenges to complete during remote instruction!? Here is a really quick, easy, and APPLICABLE design challenge. Have your students immerse themselves in the importance of cybersecurity and design a cover for their webcams. This project supports both online and physical prototyping depending on the access your students have. This project can be adapted to be completed in a short time frame, or a longer one by extending the feedback, improve, and redesign steps.

Use the document to help your students record feedback. The file is an editable Google Doc that you can print or send virtually to your students. It requires students to review, discuss, and record the feedback for their partners on a given project or assignment. Product also includes a filled out sample form.
