I have been teaching in Florida for 11 years. I taught high school math for 5 years and elementary math for 4 years. I am currently starting my second year as a math resource teacher in an elementary school working with grades 1 - 5. I create many of my own math activities including several differentiated (tiered) worksheets that are all attached to a common core standard and involve several SMPs.

I believe students should learn concretely and conceptually. I want students to understand the "why" behind what we are teaching and how it pertains to them now and how it will pertain to them later. I relate almost everything to real world experiences that interest the students that I teach. I teach whole class lessons with many higher order thinking questions as well as differentiated worksheets that students can work on in small groups. with partners, or independently.

I am National Board Certified in Middle Grades Mathematics. I have received our districts Performance Pay almost every year since it started based on my students' test scores.

I have a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
