About the store

Experience

If you are looking for a way to get your students engaged and motivated to document their learning, then you have reached the right place! Hi, I’m Miss STEM.I.AM and I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught internationally in several different countries, exposing me to the IB, IGCSE, A-Level, NGSS and Canadian Curriculums. I have taught Science, Chemistry, Physics, Design Technology, Engineering, and Math. Welcome to my store! I hope you enjoy using these resources as much as I have. The students love making their notes come to life and creating something worth reviewing.

Teaching style

Interactive! The students are in our lessons to DO something. Not to merely watch it being done. This isn't TV!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Watching students use these resources is amazing! It gives them the tools to create their own notes and then use the blank templates again to study and review their learning. Using techniques from "The Learning Scientist" such as duel coding and retrieval practice, students can solidify all of the content and concepts learned in a lesson, so that they can be successful in applying their understanding to application questions.

My own education history

I have a Batchelor of Education in Physical Sciences and a Masters in Science Education. I have completed numerous professional development courses in teaching Physics and Chemistry, but have also focused on assessment practices, concept-based teaching, inquiry and how students learn. I am continuously reading educational books, always searching for ways to create deeper learning experiences for students.

Additional biographical information

I have lived in Canada, the UK and Kenya, teaching in public, private and international schools.
