For Social Studies, my students write a biography about a notable person in Portland, Oregon. I created a biography outline for when students spend time on the computers researching their person. In addition to the outline, I created a template for students to write a multi paragraph biography paper.

This is a great project when studying about whales. Each group became experts on their whale. For this project, students are able to practice researching, writing, art, and cooperative learning skills.

I have my students create a timeline of key events in Portland, Oregon. This is great for students who need structure and/or a graphic organizer to fill in key events and dates. There is also space for students to sketch a quick picture to help them make more sense of the event.

Before you leave your classroom, it is always a good idea to let others know where you are. This is a simple chart you can use to inform your secretary, buddy classroom, parent, etc. of your whereabouts. Just move that clothespin down or up!

I created this order form for a grade level fundraiser. It would be easy to replace my pictures and add your classroom information.

If you have table groups in your room, this chart will be perfect! I have my table groups come up with their own team name. Whoever reaches the top first, wins a prize! My kids love this!

It's nice to have a class schedule posted for parents and students to see. All you need to do is add your subjects in the cells and print it off! I post mine outside my door so parents know what their child is doing during the day.

Before my math lesson, I have my students complete a problem solver quiz. This is a template where you can easily type a math problem and have students complete this as a warm up activity or assessment.

It's always a good thing to remind students that we believe in them. This is a little note to post in your classroom. You just need to print it off, laminate and post somewhere in the classroom! It is also a nice reminder for myself when I have those bad days. This is why we do what we do :)

As a way to progress studen'ts AR reading growth, I used ribbon and clothespins. During the first week of school, students will color their flip flop and glue it to a clothespin. After each quiz they pass, they will walk upstream to another ribbon. This will be a fun way to see student's progress as they continue to pass quizzes. If you download this document, you will get the circles with points and the title.

For a 20/20 reading log, I used a calendar format but also included a line for students to fill in their minutes read and a parent's signature.

I chose an ocean theme this year. The title will be "Our 'School' of Success." The board will be used to display student's best work. Included in this download is the title. All you need to do is print it off and post it on your bulletin board. Enjoy!

I had my students write love poems. I created a heart template for students to write the poem inside the outline.

As a way to know where students are at in the writing process, each student will have a clothespin and will independently move their pin depending on how far along they are. This is a good way to monitor the class as a whole. This download includes the 5 writing step titles. All you need to do is print it off and glue it on a yellow sheet of paper!
