I have been in public city schools in the Twin Cities for 11 years now. I am a licensed k-6 generalist teacher with a 5-8 STEM Specialist licensure. Fraction Approximation! Visualizing fractions on a number line.
Fraction Approximation is an dual activity. First students sort the fractions based on whether they are closer to 0, 1/2, or 1 whole. Then after students have brainstormed their ideas, as a class they start putting their fractions on a number line. Experience

Teaching style
I love to teach with games and hands-on activities. Many of my products include games, sorts, and hands-on ways of learning. All of my products have been tested in my classroom, or by a classroom in my school. My teachers help me edit games and come up with ways to make them better before they are placed online.

I have served as a mentor for many new teachers as well as lead teacher for my content area and grade level teams. I LOVE hosting student teachers in my classroom and have had at least one every year for the last 5 years.
