I have been in public city schools in the Twin Cities for 11 years now. I am a licensed k-6 generalist teacher with a 5-8 STEM Specialist licensure. Ballpark Comparisons and Estimates: A matching activity with editable pages!
Making sense of various units of measure is an essential life skill, requiring reasonable estimates of what measurements mean, particularly in relation to other units of measure.
We all make them, they get us through shopping in the grocery store, through doing quick "napkin" math... sometimes knowing the exact measurement just isn't feasible. In this activity, students will match "ballpark" measurements to each other.

Experience
I have been in public city schools in the Twin Cities for 11 years now. I am a licensed k-6 generalist teacher with a 5-8 STEM Specialist licensure. I have worked with many levels of children, but mainly in upper elementary and middle school. Most recently I have served as the Math LEAD in our building.
Teaching style
I love to teach with games and hands-on activities. Many of my products include games, sorts, and hands-on ways of learning. All of my products have been tested in my classroom, or by a classroom in my school. My teachers help me edit games and come up with ways to make them better before they are placed online.

I have served as a mentor for many new teachers as well as lead teacher for my content area and grade level teams. I LOVE hosting student teachers in my classroom and have had at least one every year for the last 5 years.
