I worked for the San Francisco Unified School District for 27 years before retiring in 2020. I taught 5th Grade for 25 years. I now tutor privately, but I am continuing to adjust my teaching, create resources, and grow professionally, even though I am no longer in the classroom.

Learn and practice states and capitals and math by doing Magic Squares. For each puzzle there will be either 16 or 25 squares each having one answer on the top. Read question 1 and look for the box that has the answer to that question. Put a "1" in that box. Read question 2 and look for the box with that answer. Put a "2" in that box. Continue until all boxes have numbers. You will know you are correct if all columns, rows, and diagonals add to the same number. I've included a blank template.

About the store

Experience

I worked for the San Francisco Unified School District for 27 years before retiring in 2020. I taught 5th Grade for 25 years. I now tutor privately, but I am continuing to adjust my teaching, create resources, and grow professionally, even though I am no longer in the classroom.

Teaching style

Hands-on, creating real-life experiences to teach math and history in particular, group work, games/fun activities to teach and review concepts in addition to book work.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I achieved my National Board Certification in 2015, and I was a finalist for San Francisco Unified School District Elementary School Teacher of the Year in 2018.
