This word study packet focuses solely on the alphabet. For every letter of the alphabet, there are five different activity pages that focus on letter recognition, beginning sound/letter identification (with the exception of “x”, which focuses on “x” at the end of words), and handwriting. Also included are pages specifically for handwriting practice of both lowercase and uppercase letters.

This packet features cvc word-building cards with images and Elkonin boxes that are designed to specifically fit Lakeshore brand letter magnets. The first half of the packet has pages with four cards per page using the same vowel (with color-coded borders). The second half of the packet has the same cards, but arranged with different vowels together. In my classroom, we used the cards cut apart, as well as the whole intact sheets.
