For this activity students set up a scale/number line and then place 22 values on the number line. There are whole numbers, integers, and positive and negative rational numbers. Extension: you could use some irrational numbers. You will need milk caps (or similar counters) and blue painter's tape. This worked well in my 7th grade Pre-Algebra group
