Practice skip counting using the "guess and check" method. Once the number line has been completed, find the distance between the stars. Skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 10s, 50s, and 100s. A total of 24 number lines. Answer key included. Print off as a worksheet, have it laminated for math tubs, or use as a presentation. Place values between 10s and 1,000s. Number lines do cross over the decade and century marks.
Create a pictograph with the following winter games: snowboarding, skiing, speed skating, figure skating, hockey, and bobsledding. Choose from 6 different keys for added challenges. Two levels of questions; 10 straight forward and easier, and 10 more difficult (requiring the student to add and subtract). I developed this for my second graders, but by changing out the key this could also work for into to pictographs for 1st grade or review for 3rd grade.
