Practice skip counting using the "guess and check" method. Once the number line has been completed, find the distance between the stars. Skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 10s, 50s, and 100s. A total of 24 number lines. Answer key included. Print off as a worksheet, have it laminated for math tubs, or use as a presentation. Place values between 10s and 1,000s. Number lines do cross over the decade and century marks.
Place value word cards.

Create a pictograph with the following winter games: snowboarding, skiing, speed skating, figure skating, hockey, and bobsledding. Choose from 6 different keys for added challenges. Two levels of questions; 10 straight forward and easier, and 10 more difficult (requiring the student to add and subtract). I developed this for my second graders, but by changing out the key this could also work for into to pictographs for 1st grade or review for 3rd grade.
Solve each train car’s word problem. Find the correct candy piece and place it with the car. Decide whether you added, subtracted, or both to find your answer. Place the car behind the corresponding train engine. Record your answers.

Create a mathematical record for the 50th day of school. Choose from: Sums of 50, Differences of 50, I can count to 50, I can count to 50 by 10s, I can count to 50 by 2s, or How may ways can I express 50? Trace your record on black paper, paste the record title in the middle, and use a white crayon to show your work. Display with a jukebox.
